Essential – a must read
This is a powerful, heartfelt account that shines a much-needed light on the realities of training and working as a mental health nurse in England. Through honest storytelling and vivid detail, the author captures not only the clinical challenges but also the emotional resilience, compassion, and humanity required in the profession.
At a time when conversations around mental health have never been more important, this book offers invaluable insight into the people behind the uniforms — the trainees learning their craft while navigating pressure, responsibility, and deeply human moments. It’s both eye-opening and deeply moving.
Whether you work in healthcare, are considering a career in nursing, or simply want to better understand the mental health system, this book is an inspiring and worthwhile read. It leaves you with a renewed respect for mental health professionals and the vital work they do every day.

Fab book
Really enjoyed reading this book. As a mental health nurse this book was relatable to my experiences in clinical practice and the working relationships/friendships developed along the way.

Excellent read
I absolutely loved this book. These true stories should never be forgotten. They are the history of mental heath nursing, written with so much passion and an eagerness to change practice. I am in a very privileged position to know one of the authors who has guided me through my own practice. She is most definitely loved and still very much admired by her fellow colleagues. Congratulations to you both x

A good read!
An excellent book which describes the changes in mental health provision from hospitalisation to inclusion into the community. It describes how practitioners coped in a practical and often humorous manner. Enjoyed the read.

Wonderful
Beautifully written with great humour that keeps memories alive and those currently working in it smiling at the very similar experiences we face day to day.
The story is great in showing the differences in nursing and the very need for things to continue to change in the right direction with the ever increasing demand!
No matter what area of mental health nursing you go into the experiences prove similar. Great reading about two friends that met through their career and still continue to have a very strong friendship despite the distance and the years passed by!

I am delighted that I published my third novel, ‘DOYLE’S DEJA VU’ with i2i publishing. All aspects of my novel have been completed to the highest standard. The cover graphics are vivid and will draw the potential reader to my story. The editing was complete and very professional. Layout, print size and paper are of a high quality.
Working with Lionel Ross and his team has been a pleasure on my publishing journey. They have been a tremendous asset in my effort to raise money for the Northern Ireland children’s hospice.
I have no hesitation in recommending i2i publishing to any author at any stage in their writing career.

I can’t thank enough Lionel and Mark for all the effort they put in to getting my book published. At the outset Lionel explained in a clear and comprehensible fashion how the publishing process worked with i2i.
Mark did an excellent job in the editing, he was always available for me and we worked very well together. He was patient and showed real attention to detail in getting a working system for referencing and structure.
I thought the design Dino made for the cover of the book was very good.
At all times Lionel was approachable and highly professional. It was great to have that support as a first time author. I believe you couldn’t do better than have your work published by i2i.

I have been made to feel profoundly welcome in the publishing world by Lionel Ross of i2i Publishing. Quick to forgive my shortcomings as a complete beginner in the art of writing, it was he who first delved into my original draft and gave me the thumbs up, so I shall always remain grateful for his confidence in my idea. Huge thanks are due to Roy Clayton, my assigned editor, who contended with my previously undiagnosed aversion to hyphenation and bravely ploughed through my script to reveal numerous errors and teaching me some subtle nuances of our beautiful language along the way. I cannot recommend i2i Publishing highly enough and I am extremely grateful for their professional yet personable approach.

A huge thank you to Lionel and his wonderful team at i2i publishing for all their hard working getting my book, The Self Improver, to print. Special thanks also to Mark Cripps, the senior editor. Without i2i I would never have managed to get my book published. I can’t wait to work with these wonderful professionals again when my next book is finished. I also love the new website. Thank you guys, I can’t recommend you highly enough.
Nick Eades – Author – The Self-Improver

I have been deeply impressed by i2i Publishing. Lionel Ross was always extremely helpful and supportive and the whole team produced my book ‘Brexit: the road to freedom’ with great professionalism. My most sincere thanks to all involved.

As a new author, I had many offers from different publishers for my book LIFE ON A KNIFE EDGE. I was delighted with my choice to go ahead with i2i publishing, as from the outset Mr Lionel Ross and later his senior editor Mr Mark Cripps made my journey personal. There were many events in my story that had made me go back and visit different areas of my trauma, again Mr Ross and Mr Cripps gave me the time that I needed to continue with telling my story keeping me and the well being of my family as their NUMBER ONE priority. I thank them both for going the extra mile and eventually producing what I have been told many times by readers that LIFE ON A KNIFE EDGE is one of the best books that they have ever read.
